Fireworks are pretty cool.
Especially the gold ones, with the kind of applausing sound...kind of like rain. And when it starts to fade, it looks like a rainshower of stars. Pretty awesome. At least I think so.
Anyways, I haven't updated in a long time...
I blame my laziness :P
Anyways, last Sunday, after church, we had to go to Shawn's house. Phillip and Eric's family was also there. We pretty much only played basketball and tennis, then some Super Smash Bros later.
We had to stay at their house for sooo long. I predicted that we'd leave at (at least) 11:00. And I was pretty much right.
On Tuesday, we went to the Pointe to play basketball. Since there weren't as many people there, we played with the adults. Kind of. For the first game, we played half-court/scrimmage. It was me, my dad, and Shawn against Allen, Zack, Baowei, and this one other asian adult. I think our team won. Anyways, we didn't really finish the game, since the other game that was going on had ended. By the way, we were only able to use one court/side of the gym, since there was a blood drive going on at the other side of the gym earlier in the day, apparently.
Anyways, after that was finished, we took a break, then played a full court game in which I utterly stunk. I was pretty tired the whole day and wasn't feeling too well, so I barely had any energy to even make a fricking three-pointer. How embarrassing. Funny thing was that at the sidelines/bench, there was a random Pokemon card and a Harry Potter and the Prizoner of Azkaban book. Ironically enough, the Pokemon card was an "energy" card.
Well, after that game, I decided not to play anymore, since I wasn't feeling very well. I just went outside (of the gym) and watched some t.v. in the lobby place. It was the STL Cardinals against a team I don't remember. But the score was 6-3 (Cardinals 3) at like the 7th inning.
Then Allen, Shawn, and Zack came out and we all played foosball. We played four games. The teams were Allen and Shawn against me and Zack. The first two games, we obliterated Allen and Shawn. Totally destroyed, dominated, razed, pwned, owned, killed, maimed, slaughtered, etc. etc. etc. Well, not to that extreme. We did win by at least 6-8 points. But then we switched sides (not teams). I didn't feel like playing, so I didn't really try. And we lost the last two games. Oh well. At least we didn't get completely pwned. Lol.
After that, Allen, Shawn, and Zack went to play basketball again (but not in the game), and I joined them a little while after. We didn't really do anything except shoot some hoops. After that, we left.
Let's see...on Thursday, we went to guess where? Shawn's house. Of course.
Anyways, we ate dinner at home. And we arrived at their house at like 7:45pm. We dropped off our fruits at their house. We brought mangoes, cherries, and a watermelon. Yeah, kind of weird, I know.
After that, we went to the YMCA. There was some sort of karate class going on in the gym, but it had just ended. We saw Yifu and his mom there and invited them to play basketball with us. We played all of the kids vs all of the adults. Yifu and his mom played barefoot. Kinda weird.
Anyways, the first two games we won. We played to 15, but the second game, my dad (I think it was) changed it to 16 as the number of points to win, even though we had already gotten 15 points, which was the set amount at the start of the game. The third game, I didn't really try that hard, since my dad was getting pretty aggressive. Intentional fouling anyone on the other (our) team who had the ball. I think the adults won the third round. Not too sure. The fourth round, the teams kept on changing gor the opposing team. Our team stayed the same throughout the fourth game, which was all of the kids except Yifu. My mom and Shawn's mom didn't play. So the opposite team was Yifu, Yifu's mom, Shawn's dad, and my dad. Except somewhere along in the game, my dad stopped playing and Shawn's mom substituted for him. We didn't keep track of points, and I don't think anyone on my team was trying very hard.
Oh yeah, while we were playing basketball, some black kids sat in the sideline benches/stands and watched us play. Kind of weird. Black kids watching a bunch of Asian people play basketball. They were probably in high school or something. And I think they took our Gatorade. Two bottles.
We played basketball for probably an hour, at least. And if you think that that was it, and we went home after that...boy, are you so very very wrong.
We went back to Shawn's house. Ate a lot of fruit. We were thinking about playing cards. Like poker or geng zhu (Chinese game, kind of like hearts). But we didn't end up playing.
After we ate, we went downstairs and pretty much did nothing for the next seven or so hours. Yes, I do mean seven. Allen and I watched Shawn and Sam play a nonsense game of Scrabble for like ten minutes. I say nonsense, because the words were like "geobisortifiy," "grampoles," and "Shaqtastic." Yeah, they played with two of those benchy thingys where you put the letters on.
Then we played Super Smash Bros for a while. Then we played Wii sports and Shawn got one of their Miis to age 80 for the fitness test thing. Lol.
We played Wii Baseball, and I won against Shawn, then I think I won again against Allen and Sam (they were playing on the same team, as in they shared the wii remote). Then we played Wii Bowling, and found a cheat that got you a strike on the last level of the power thing, which gives you 91 x 2 points. Pretty good.
The rest of the time? Nothing worth mentioning, except we tried to make a nonsense shot from the couch, sitting down then getting 1/2 inch off the couch, turning the waist a quarter of the way to face the basketball hoop, then throw overhand and running the side of the thigh into the edge of the couch. Really stupid shot. But Shawn actually made it once.
Besides that, we didn't virtually nothing else. Nothing. NOTHING.
And we left at 3 freaking 40 freaking A.M.
Seriously...Chinese adults...And we were the only family there...
Friday, everybody (well, a lot of people, except me) thought that it was Saturday. I woke up at 11:45, because of the alarm clock, but I decided that I wanted to sleep some more, so I turned it off and continued sleeping, waking up at around noon. Anyways, Impact was very interesting. We split up into groups, numbering off to 4. I switched with Tiffany to become a 2, since she apparently wanted to be a 1. Anyways, the group was me, Allen, Shawn, and Josh. Fanjie was our leader. She talked for so long. Really, really long. And some of it was redundant. Not saying that what she said wasn't true or something, but it was pretty weird, since all she did was talk and ask a few questions - to which was met with silence. It was kind of awkward...Then the group that was next to ours started talking really loudly. You could hear Christin's voice really clearly. And David's too (David Zhang, weird, kind of creepy kid if you're me), kind of. I think they said something like "Hi, my name is David. I'm from Jerusalem!" then Christine telling David to trip over something. Then there was another group that was in another room with a glass door separating our room from theirs. They started moving around and stuff. So then I started wondering if we were supposed to be doing a skit, but I didn't ask Fanjie. Then Pastor Manning came and asked how our skit was going. Then Fanjie said that she didn't really pay attention and hadn't seen the part in capitalized letters that talked about doing a skit on the piece of paper all of the leaders got. then she made us come up with a skit and then walked away.
Our skit was rather...interesting. But short. At least it followed the directions. Most of the time that we had to come up with the skit was trying to convince Allen to be an Asian kid for the skit. And when it was our turn to do the skit, we had to wing it. Improvise. Gahh.
After Impact, we had root beer floats. it was so funny because right when everyone got theirs, Yvonne went to Allen first to ask if he wanted seconds. After finishing eating, we went back to the church. Terrance was there, and he put hand sanitizer on the doorknob. Then Allen put some germ-x on the basketball hoop and told Terrance to see if he could touch the rim, falling into Allen's deadly trap. Bahblahblah, then Allen told Terrance to go find someone to bring to the old sanctuary. At first, no one came, but then Phillip came. I'm not too sure, but I think he fell into the trap. I put germ-x on the door to the old sanctuary, the door on the opposite of previous door, and on the other door to the old sanctuary.
Allen tried to shoot in an airplane into the garbage, but failed every single time. Then he tried shooting it into the basketball hoop, to which he probably made 2 out of 80. And the two that he "made" didn't even go through the net. So it doesn't really even count.
We left church pretty late. Like 11:00 or so.
Saturday evening, Shawn's family and Zack came over to our house. Then we drove to the Chesterfield Mall to watch fireworks. It was pretty interesting. Shawn bought a huge bag of Bugles. We tried to find ones where we could put on our fingers, but the biggest ones could only fit on our pinky. To think that when younger we were able to put them on all fingers. Haha.
And pretty much everything today at church was told by Josh.
Beibei (Irene) like Daniel (Hongbo's brother) and I think she said Andrew? Not too sure. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Oh, and after church, my dad and Allen went to get a haircut, and at home, my mom and I also got a haircut. My mom's hair is a lot shorter than before. And I think my hair has a significant difference in terms of hair length.
Navajo Mission Send-Off Party is this Friday, July 10th, at 6:30pm. It'll probably end around 8:30-45pm. All of you that are abl to come should come! :)
And the actual Navajo Mission Trip is this Saturday! It'll be from July 11-19. Don't miss me too much. Lol.
VBS is July 27-31, but I'll have to miss the last day, since Canada is July 31-August 6th (or something like that).
Then we're going to Branson (don't remember when), and coming back the weekend before school starts. Lovely. How lovely.
